iExpress - eCommerce Special Announcement for COVID-19 MCO - 20200321, 2100

Work Travel Passes for Personnel Involved in Essential Services

It's recommended that eCommerce sellers should issue their own letter to employees as verification for the MCO (Movement Control Order). To facilitate this, we have prepared a template as reference for your company's own authorization letter.

Please find attached below, links to the authorization letter template as well as other documents that you may want to carry when dropping off your parcels:

  1. 1.) Authorization Letter for Employees - MCO with your company details and letter head
  2. 2.) Release from the government stating that e-Commerce is an essential service (Press Release as of 18 March 2020 and Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020)
  3. 3.) Your Online Store's account page ready to show on your phone

  4. 4.) Any additional supporting documents (e.g. company pass, business card, shipment documents, etc.)

For Sole Proprietorship:

The letter can be addressed to yourself using your SSM registration details in the letter head.

For Sellers (who are unable to obtain a company letter head):

Prepare documents 2 to 4 when dropping off your parcels; the Ministry does not have a specific guideline on additional documents for this situation at the moment.

Please note that this should only be used to support your business's e-Commerce operations. Do not use this letter for personal purposes.

We're constantly in touch with the authorities and we will share new guidelines as soon as we receive official confirmation. Please bear with us as we work with the authorities on helping all sellers, big and small, adapt to this situation.
